product is fair…the part on the base, in front of the reel, must have been designed by someone who has never seen a hose, as it is useless…

Suncast RSC100D does want it is suppose to do. I do not believe that it is tough enough to last as long as the older model, ( That made 7 years in a harsh coastal climate) Make sure to use the recomended hose size.

The purpose is to have the reel self wind back. Ok, but there is a pin that you have to put in the guide so the hose rewinds in a left to right manner. The pin is so flimsy that you will probably not even use it and have to stand there and guide the hose back yourself.
