Hose A Matic Automatic Rewind Garden Hose Reel With 60 Foot Hose 77001 – Reviews
I posted three pictures that illustrate my experience with this worthless thing. The first time I used it 95% of the water came pouring out the unit itself, only about 5% of the water went to the hose (see the two pictures). Obviously something is broken inside.
Beyond that though, even if it worked it would still be worthless because it’s imposible to attach it to a stucco, brick, or cement wall. The flimsy instructions they provide give no advice on how to attach it to such a wall. The instructions show an extremely small picture that you need a magnefying glass to see and even that gives no good information of how to attach it to the wall. The instructions dont even tell you the size of drill you need to bore a hole that matches the hardware they provide.
I went to Home Depot to get advice. They told me the correct drill size I would need based on the supplied hardware and they also told me I would need a “Hammer Drill” to drill the holes in the stucco (at a cost of $80.00). So I bought the hammer drill and installed this into the stucco wall and tightened the screws so hard that any harder tightening would have broken the screws. Yet, even after all this, a slight pull of the hose causes the entire unit to pull out of the wall (see picture).
So, bottom line, this thing is a useless, badly designed, piece of junk. I’m going to return it today.

Although expensive the reel is everything you would expect. Installed it in the garage to keep the hose out of the way and it does a great job. Heavy duty and easy to install.

Self-explanatory installation. However, it was never written that when you pull out the hose, you must listen for 3 clicks for each 6-foot length; if you wait for the 4th click, the hose wants to rewind itself into the housing. So far, that is the only issue. It seems to be very durable.
